AIKIDO |
Aikido means "the way of the spirit and harmony" and is sometimes called the 'gentle' martial art. In principle, it is the uniting of the mind and body that allows one to blend with and overcome an attack with a minimum of force. This makes it an especially effective form of self defense for smaller persons. Aikido can be practiced by young and old alike. Although it is a difficult art to master, students learn at their own pace. Our philosophy is that your instructors and fellow students will not lose patience with you if you don't lose patience with yourself.
William Vintroux Sensei is the chief Aikido instructor at Melbourne Aikikai. This honor and obligation was personally passed to him by Graziano Sensei.
